Michael Prager passed away.

With deep sorrow and sadness we have to inform that our colleague Dr. Michael Prager has suddenly passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2008.

Michael Prager was an active and engaged scientist with a deep interest in high resolution neutron spectroscopy that made him a well respected fellow in the solid state physics, chemistry and neutron scattering community.

He used his outstanding knowledge in quasi- and inelastic neutron scattering methods and experience in neutron scattering instrumentation during design and construction phase of the new backscattering instrument SPHERES of the Jülich Centre for Neutron Science at FRM II. This, along with his outstanding personality, very kind communication style and openness made him invaluable scientific consultant and advisor for many JCNS scientists and engineers.

Our sincere condolences to all his family and close friends.

JCNS colleagues.
