Main scientific applications at DNS:
- Magnetic, lattice and polaronic correlations in various length and time scales:
geometrically frustrated magnets, correlated electrons
- Single-crystal and powder TOF spectroscopy: single-particle excitations,
magnons, phonons
- Polarization analysis: uniaxial-, longitudinal- and vector-PA: magnetism and
soft condensed matter
What can be offered to users for the current proposal round:
- High polarized neutron flux:
~ 5 x 106 n/(cm2s) at 4.74 Å
- Polarization analysis on single crystals, powders and soft matters
- Two typical experimental set-up:
- High intensity powder diffractometer for magnetism
- Single crystal diffractometer for Reciprocal Space Mapping
- Attractive sample environments:
- from 20 mK to above 300 K
- Cryomagnet with the vertical field up to 5 Tesla expected in mid-2008
