Duties: You will be involved at the further development of the time-of-flight spectrometer with polarisation analysis DNS at the research reactor FRM II in Garching as second instrument responsible, in particular for the development of software for display and analysis of data from single crystals; you will be co-responsible for the user operation; you will participate in the research program of the institute with the focus on magnetism and correlated electron systems and have the opportunity to carry out a personal research program.

Qualification: We are interested in highly motivated candidates with the strong interest in scientific and technical problems and the ability to cooperate with groups of the research centres and with users. Mobility is required as well as computing skills. Although not essential, some experience with scattering methods (x-ray or neutron scattering) is highly desirable as well as good knowledge of solid state physics, in particular solid state magnetism or correlated electron systems. Initially we offer a fixed term contract for three years.

Die Außenstelle des Jülich Centre for Neutron Science JCNS am FRM II in Garching betreibt ein Labor zur Herstellung dünner magnetischer Schichten.

In der Position erwartet Sie: Mitarbeit beim Aufbau und Betrieb des Labors zur Herstellung von dünnen magnetischen Schichten mit Hilfe der Molekularstrahlepitaxie; Mitarbeit bei Betrieb und Weiterentwicklung von Neutronenstreuinstrumenten am FRM II, insbesondere im Bereich anspruchsvoller Probenumgebung wie der in-situ Präparation dünner Schichten.

Wir erwarten von Ihnen: abgeschlossene Weiterbildung zum/zur Techniker/in, bevorzugt Fachrichtung Physikalische Technik, oder eine vergleichbare Qualifikation; gutes technisches Allgemeinverständnis; Fähigkeit zur kooperativen Zusammenarbeit; überdurchschnittliche Leistungs- und Einsatzbereitschaft.

Erwünscht sind: Kenntnisse im Zusammenhang mit Ultahochvakuumanlagen;. Grundkenntnisse der englischen Sprache.
