7th Laboratory Course - Neutron Scattering
linie570

15-26 September 2003
Jülich - Germany

Forschungszentrum Jülich
in cooperation with

RWTH Aachen and

WWU Münster

Sorry, application is closed for this year.

Please have a look at this page by the end of this year to obtain infomation about the 8th Laboratory Course Neutron Scattering 2004

The Institut für Festkörperforschung (Institute für Solid State Research) at the Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany, organizes in cooperation with the University of Münster (Prof. D. Richter, Dr. R. Zorn) and the RWTH Aachen (Prof. G. Heger, Prof. T. Brückel) a laboratory course in neutron scattering with experiments at the neutron scattering facilities of the research reactor FRJ-2 in Jülich.

The laboratory course will consist of lectures and an experimental section. The lectures will encompass an introduction to neutron sources, into scattering theory and instrumentation. Furthermore, selected topics of condensed matter will be presented.

The laboratory course is part of the curriculum of the University of Münster and the RWTH Aachen.

It is the aim of the course to give a realistic insight into the experimental technique neutron scattering and its scientific power. The Forschungszentrum Jülich supports non-local students with free accomodation and half pension. Travel stipendia for foreign students have been applied for at the European round table for neutron research.

T. Brückel, G. Heger, D. Richter, R. Zorn
